Zijin County Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument

The Zijin County Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument (including the martyrs' cemetery) is located at Alley 1, Anliang Street, Anliang Neighborhood Committee, Zicheng Town, Zijin County (on the left side of Zhongshan Park). It faces north and covers an area of 960 square meters.

During the New Democratic Revolution, the people of Zijin fought bravely and made successive sacrifices. Over 700 of them were recognized as martyrs. To commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed heroically in the revolutionary struggle, the Zijin County People's Government built the Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument in 1950 outside Caopu, Wuhu Bridge, in the urban area. In 1959, it was relocated here from Dongfeng Road, Zicheng Town, and renovated in 1992. The monument consists of a base and a main body, finished with washed granite, featuring a square top and standing 14 meters tall. The front of the main body bears the engraved inscription "Immortal Glory." The front of the base is inlaid with a granite plaque engraved with "Zijin County Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument," inscribed in 1987 by Marshal Xu Xiangqian; the back features a granite plaque with the inscription of the renovation text, and both sides display the "Roll of Honor of Revolutionary Martyrs." The martyrs' cemetery is located 5 meters behind the monument, 2.7 meters high and 4 meters in diameter, with a round top. The area around the monument (including the martyrs' cemetery) is planted with cypress trees.

In June 1987, it was designated as a Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the Zijin County Government. In January 1994, it was designated as a Patriotic Education Base by the Zijin County Party Committee and County Government. In June 2011, it was designated as a Patriotic Education Base by the Heyuan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
