Martyrs' Cemetery of the Zijin Anti-Conscription Brigade
The Martyrs' Cemetery of the Zijin Anti-Conscription Brigade is located in Xiaqingxi Village, Yirong Town, Zijin County.
In December 1948, the Nationalist 160th Division launched a surprise attack on the Zijin People's Anti-Conscription Brigade. To cover the retreat of the brigade headquarters, 31 officers and soldiers, including Lai Fangping, captain of the Changchun Squadron, were killed in action.
The cemetery is located at the center of the hill where the revolutionary martyrs fell. During its 1982 renovation, the structure was built with lime-sand mortar. It faces northeast and southwest, features a tombstone, and covers an area of approximately 40 square meters. When it was refurbished in 2009, the materials were changed to cement, and the sides of the tombstone were fitted with ceramic tiles.
