Former Residence of Zhong Ling and Zhong Zilian

The former residence of Zhong Ling and Zhong Zilian is located at No. 23 Rulin Street, Yong’an Neighborhood Committee, Zicheng Town, Zijin County.

Zhong Ling and Zhong Zilian were uncle and nephew. Zhong Ling was born in 1898, joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1923, and was one of the first CCP members in Zijin County. He participated in the “April 26” armed uprising in 1927.

Zhong Zilian was born in 1899. In 1925, he served as a special envoy of the county’s Peasant Association and deputy commander of the Zijin County Peasant Self-Defense Army. In 1927, he took part in the “April 26” armed uprising. In January 1928, he cooperated with the Red Second Army Division in the defense of Qingxi in the Soviet Area. He was betrayed and killed by enemies in Chaziyuan, Haifeng in June.

The residence was built during the Qing Dynasty, facing south with a north orientation. It is a three-bay, two-courtyard structure, measuring 11.6 meters in width and 15.1 meters in depth. It features a purlin and gable wall construction, a flush gable roof, gray tiles, blue brick walls, and a stone foundation.
