Former Site of the Red Army Buglers' Training School

The former site of the Red Army Buglers' Training School is a cultural relic protection unit of Zijin County, a classic red tourism attraction, and a base for patriotic education.

The former site of the Red Army Buglers' Training School is located at Laozhai Hill in Paozi Village, Suqu Town.

The training school was established in August 1929, with Comrade Mai Shengbiao (formerly the bugler officer of the Second Red Army Division) as its head. The first training class had seven students and lasted over two months. After graduation, they were assigned as buglers to various army companies. By the end of that year, the training school relocated to Haifeng to start its second class.

The training school is a civilian house originally built during the Qing Dynasty and rebuilt in 2011, with a floor area of over 100 square meters.

In March 2009, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit by the Zijin County Government. In November 2010, it was recognized as a patriotic education base by the Heyuan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. In June 2011, it was announced as a patriotic education base by the Guangdong Provincial Propaganda Department.
