Former Site of the Headquarters of the Longpao District Regiment

The former site of the headquarters of the Longpao District Regiment is a classic red tourism attraction and a patriotic education base.

The former site of the headquarters of the Long (Wo) Pao (Zi) District Regiment is located in Dawan, Paozi Village, Suqu Town, Zijin County.

Established in 1931, the Longpao District Regiment of Zijin County operated under the leadership of the Hailu-Zi Soviet Government, persistently carrying out guerrilla warfare, combating enemy forces, and expanding the guerrilla zone.

The site was originally an old residence of the Wen family, facing southeast and situated northwest, featuring five bays and two courtyards, with wing rooms at both ends, a total width of 37.6 meters and a depth of 18 meters. It has a purlin and gable wall structure, a flush gable roof, gray tiles, brick walls, and a stone foundation. Originally built during the Qing Dynasty, it was renovated in 2011.

In January 1977, it was designated as a key cultural relics protection unit by the Zijin County Government. In January 2009, it was declared a patriotic education base by the Zijin County Party Committee and County Government. In November 2010, it was recognized as a patriotic education base by the Heyuan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. In June 2011, it was announced as a patriotic education base by the Publicity Department of the Guangdong Provincial Committee.
