The former site of the command post of the Dongjiang Red Army Independent Division is a cultural relic protection unit of Zijin County, a classic red tourism attraction, and a base for patriotic education.

The former site of the command post of the Dongjiang Red Army Independent Division is located in Yougukeng, Chixi Village, Suqu Town, Zijin County.

In 1931, the CPC Dongjiang Special Committee reorganized the 11th Red Army into the Guangdong Dongjiang Independent Division of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. In 1933, the division’s command post was stationed in Yougukeng, where it directed guerrilla warfare by the Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army and local armed forces, delivering heavy blows to the Kuomintang forces and landlord militias.

The site faces east and is backed by west, featuring a three-bay, two-courtyard layout with side wings at both ends. It spans 26.5 meters in width and 12.5 meters in depth, constructed with purlin gable walls, a flush gable roof, gray tiles, brick walls, and a stone foundation.

In January 1977, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit by the Zijin County Government. In March 2009, it was announced as a patriotic education base by the Zijin County Party Committee and County Government. In November 2010, it was listed as a patriotic education base by the Heyuan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. In June 2011, it was declared a patriotic education base by the Publicity Department of the Guangdong Provincial Committee.
