Former Site of the Zijin County Peasants' Association

The Former Site of the Zijin County Peasants' Association is a Zijin County cultural heritage site, a classic red tourism attraction, and a patriotic education base.

The Former Site of the Zijin County Peasants' Association is located in the ancestral hall of the Zhong family on Rulin Street, Yong’an Neighborhood Committee, Zicheng Town, Zijin County.

From 1925 to 1927, the Zijin County Peasants' Association was headquartered here. Its leader, Zhong Yiqiang, spearheaded rent and interest reduction campaigns across the county and directed the peasant self-defense forces in combat against landlord militias. The Zhong family ancestral hall was first built in the mid-Qing Dynasty and was reconstructed in 2003 following its original layout. It faces northeast and is situated southwest, featuring three bays and two courtyards, with a width of 13.2 meters and a depth of 15 meters. The structure has brick walls, with the main gate located on the left corridor. Inside the gate is a wooden screen. It has yellow glazed tiles and a flush-gable roof. The inner and outer walls are built on granite strip foundations and are covered with ceramic tiles.

In June 1987, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit by the Zijin County Government. In January 1994, it was recognized as a patriotic education base by the Zijin County Party Committee and County Government.
