The site of the First Congress of the Dongjiang Branch of the Communist Party of China is a classic red tourism destination.

The site of the First Congress of the Dongjiang Branch of the Communist Party of China is located at Shanglian Xinlou, Guzhu Neighborhood Committee, Guzhu Town, Zijin County.

After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Zeng Sheng, Secretary of the Huizhou (Yangshan)-Bao’an (Shenzhen) Working Committee of the CPC, dispatched Communist Party member Li Mengchi to return from Pingshan to Guzhu to re-establish the Party organization and carry out anti-Japanese salvation work. In December 1938 and January 1939, the Special Branch of the CPC in Guzhu and the Provisional Working Committee of the CPC Zijin County were successively established in Guzhu. In February 1939, the First Congress of the CPC Dongjiang Region was successfully held here, leading to the establishment of the CPC Dongjiang Special Committee (abbreviated as CPC Dongjiang Special Committee), with Yin Linping as Secretary, Rao Weihua as Head of Organization, Rao Zhangfeng as Head of Propaganda, Zhang Zhixin and Zheng Zhong as members, and Li Jianxing as an alternate member. It also included a Youth Committee with Rao Huangxiang as Secretary and Zhang Pingzhi as Deputy Secretary, a Women’s Committee with Chen Wancui as Secretary and Yu Hui as Deputy Secretary, and appointed county Party secretaries for counties under the Dongjiang region that had not yet established county-level Party committees.

The original site was built during the Qing Dynasty, facing south with its back to the north. It is a three-bay, two-courtyard, two-story structure, 9.6 meters wide and 12 meters deep, with a flush-gable roof, gray tiles, rammed earth walls, stone foundations, square bricks, stone door frames, and a purlin-gable wall structure.
