Luofu Dutianhe Scenic Area

Dutianhe is located in the northwest of Luofu Town, Xingning City, 68 kilometers from Xingcheng and 13 kilometers from Luofu Town. It is the source of the clear and emerald-green Dongjiang River. Due to the construction of the Fengshuba Reservoir, Dutianhe resembles a “high gorge with a calm lake.” It stretches over 30 kilometers in length, with the widest point being 2 kilometers. To the north, it borders Xunwu County in Jiangxi Province, and to the south, it connects to the Fengshuba Reservoir, forming part of the water transport route from Longchuan to Xingning.

The Dutianhe area features azure skies, drifting clouds, picturesque lakes, and rolling mountains—offering truly enchanting scenery. Starting from the town, the main road is flanked by swaying bamboo groves and towering trees, with blooming wildflowers and babbling streams along the way. On both sides of the river, lush peaks undulate continuously, shrouded in misty shadows. Along the riverbanks and gravel beaches, green grass flourishes and herds of cattle and sheep graze. The area can be described as a “cool and serene world” characterized by clarity, coolness, tranquility, and verdancy. In spring and autumn, flowing springs, cascading waterfalls, birdsong, and fragrant blossoms can be found everywhere. In winter and summer, forests are painted in vibrant hues, with a glow of russet hues spreading across the landscape.

It’s like a fine painting of “maple leaves redder than February flowers.” The 30-kilometer waterway winds through overlapping mountain ridges—“mountains like jade hairpins, rivers like silk ribbons.” No wonder some compare it to “West Lake” or even to a “Little Guilin.”

With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, developing the Dutianhe tourist area has become an inevitable step. To make the best use of tourism resources, the Luofu Town Party Committee and government established the Dutianhe Tourism Development Leading Group. They have invested nearly one million yuan to build a 13.5-kilometer-long, 6-meter-wide rural road from Luofu Town to Dutianhe. The road is cement-paved and suitable for uphill and downhill traffic. Mobile phone service has been enabled, five cruise boats and two speedboats have been purchased, and nearly 100 acres of mountain land have been acquired. Currently, funds are being raised to build a “Dutianhe Tourism Resort” that integrates sightseeing, travel, vacationing, entertainment, and shopping.

More than 2,000 acres of bamboo have been planted, yielding considerable economic benefits and connecting with the existing bamboo forests to form a vast “sea of green bamboo.” The tall, verdant bamboo symbolizes the strength, humility, integrity, and selfless dedication of the people of Luofu. Dutianhe is steadily advancing toward becoming a municipal-level tourist area.

The main scenic spots in Dutianhe currently include: Xiangshui Palace, Bride’s Bridge, Xiangli Cliff Cave, Qinglong Tianzi Temple, Yuantan Hydropower Station, Aizhai Scenery, and “Sky Net” fishing. When visiting here, you can ride speedboats, admire landscapes, taste river fish, and pick fresh fruits. You can also fish by the river, sing out loud, relax, and fully immerse yourself in the beauty of nature, becoming one with the great outdoors.
