The Hongyuan Ecological Park was established as a key project supported by the Xingning Municipal Party Committee and Government to earnestly implement Guangdong Province’s National Leisure Tourism Plan, carry out the Meizhou Municipal Party Committee and Government’s “Four Meizhous” initiative, and further advance Xingning’s “Three Cities” development strategy. It aims to accelerate the growth of the city’s tourism industry. This “agritainment” and “rural tourism” destination is designed to meet the needs of the general public. Together with Meizhou’s Yan Nan Fei, as well as local attractions such as Shenguang Mountain and Heshui, it forms a cohesive tourism route that will attract visitors from Hong Kong, Macau, the Pearl River Delta, eastern Guangdong, neighboring Jiangxi and Fujian, as well as local residents. It serves as an ideal destination for urban dwellers seeking a back-to-nature leisure experience to relax both body and mind.

The Hongyuan Ecological Park enjoys a prime location, just 12 kilometers from the center of Xingning City. It is traversed by two expressways—the Meizhou–Heyuan and Xingning–Shanwei highways—and is connected by smooth roads to downtown Xingning, National Highway 205, the Guangmeishan Railway Station, and Meizhou Airport, offering extremely convenient transportation.

The surrounding area of the Hongyuan Ecological Park primarily relies on agriculture, breeding, and the tertiary industry, boasting abundant agricultural and sideline products such as fresh fish, longan, tea, pomelos, loquats, sanhua plums, lychees, citrus fruits, and organic vegetables. In addition, there are numerous historical and cultural sites nearby, including Xingning’s “Top Ten Ancient Residences,” the Xingning Confucius Temple, the Xingning Lianghai Guild Hall, and ancient city walls.

The park is located in Heli Village, Nipu, known as the “Hometown of Hot Springs.” It boasts abundant hot spring resources. According to measurements by the Guangdong 722 Hydrogeological Team, the hot spring has a flow rate of 11.37 liters per second, with a daily output of 4,500 cubic meters, and a temperature as high as 88°C. It contains more than 10 types of trace elements beneficial to health, including sodium bicarbonate, hydrogen sulfide, radon, tantalum, and iodine. These offer excellent therapeutic effects and health benefits for conditions such as neurasthenia, diabetes, skin diseases, and arthritis. According to renowned Guangdong hot spring expert Xian Hanlong, the hot spring water here is of top quality with tremendous development potential.

According to the plan, the first phase of the Hongyuan Ecological Park has been completed, including infrastructure such as a tourist reception center and hot spring pools.

The tourist reception center can accommodate over 300 guests simultaneously, featuring high-standard guest rooms, including presidential suites and distinctive luxury villas, offering visitors a luxurious, home-like experience. Additionally, the center includes a large conference room and banquet hall that can host around 400 people, providing high-quality business event services for various social organizations and institutions.

The hot spring pools feature a large outdoor hot spring area. Drawing on traditional wellness philosophies from both the East and the West and tailored to human physiological functions, 33 hot spring baths of varying sizes and styles have been meticulously designed, each with unique wellness characteristics. Facilities such as a wellness center, leisure area, swimming pool, spa zone, and fish therapy pool are all well-developed. The fish therapy hot spring is the first of its kind in Xingning, and the standard indoor hot spring swimming pool is currently the only one in Guangdong Province. With these offerings, the Hongyuan Ecological Park stands as a high-standard, premium-grade five-star ecological park in Meizhou City.

In the future, the Hongyuan Ecological Park plans to build supporting facilities such as a high-tech agricultural demonstration zone and new rural residential buildings, gradually developing into a comprehensive, high-end ecological park integrating hot spring tourism, leisure entertainment, dining and accommodation, and conference business, contributing to the enhancement of Xingning’s reputation.
