Dushiwei: Located in Wuxing Village, Huangpi Town, this structure was jointly built by the four brothers of the ninth generation of the Zhong family—Zhong Guiyu—in the Xianfeng era of the Qing Dynasty. It is said to have been constructed around the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty to evade attacks by the “Long-haired rebels” (referring to the Taiping Rebellion army), dating back approximately 150 years. The building is a four-corner watchtower, facing north and situated in the middle of a field. The surrounding walls stand three stories high, and the four corner turrets rise to four stories. The original building had only one northern gate, with no outward-facing windows—only gunports—for enhanced defense capabilities. The building has a square layout, measuring 52.8 meters from east to west and 53.8 meters from north to south, covering a construction area of approximately 2,600 square meters. The outer walls were built using rammed earth (a mixture of lime, clay, and sand), 60 centimeters thick, while the inner walls were made of mud bricks. Ladders at the four corners provide access to the upper floors, and originally, corridors connected the second and third floors throughout the building. The interior of the enclosed tower is an open courtyard, with a well located beneath the western turret. The entire structure consists of a series of single-room units arranged along a corridor, with 62 rooms per floor and a total of 186 rooms across three levels. Currently, the eastern section has collapsed, leaving only the outer walls. The southern and western sections still house over 30 residents.

Wuxing Village

There are 69 party members, including 20 who are living in particularly difficult conditions, of whom 5 are receiving subsistence allowances. The village has a total population of 3,680, with 756 households, 1,396 mu of arable land, 328.1 hectares of forested land, a collective economic income of 12,000 yuan, and an average annual per capita income of 3,858 yuan for farmers. Public security is relatively good. There are 720 people in particularly difficult circumstances, of whom 159 are receiving subsistence allowances.
