Yuchengwei

Yuchengwei is a Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Yuchengwei is located in Group 9 of Sendong Village, Heshui Town, Xingning City, Meizhou, Guangdong Province. It was built by Chen Shousheng from the 14th generation of the Chen family and construction began in the 11th year of the Republic of China (1921). Facing northwest and situated southeast, it is a three-hall, two-wing, one-enclosed-dragon-style residence, with a total width of 53.6 meters, a total depth of 48.9 meters, a built-up area of 2,630 square meters, and a distribution area of approximately 4,200 square meters. Constructed with rammed earth walls and supported by wooden and stone frameworks, it features a hard mountain-style roof covered with clay tiles. The overall structure centers around the main hall, with wing rooms on both sides. A semi-circular enclosed dragon house is built at the back, connecting to the wing rooms.

In 2015, it was designated as a Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province.

Heshui Town: Heshui Town is located in the central part of Xingning City. To the south it neighbors Longtian, to the west it connects with Yetang, to the northwest it borders Daping, to the north it adjoins Pingyang and Gangbei, and to the east it links with Longbei. It is 15 kilometers from Xingcheng, covering a total area of 38.98 square kilometers. The arable land area is 5,871 mu, including 3,671 mu of paddy (or dry) fields, 2,200 mu of dry sloping fields, 2,882 mu of fruit orchards and forest land, and 6,595 mu of mountainous land. The town administers 8 village committees (Luobi, Xichun, Fuhe, Wulian, Huling, Shuangxi, Lequn, Makeng), 1 market town neighborhood committee, and the state-owned Heshui Farm.
