Huitang'ao Kiln

Huitang'ao Kiln is located in Huitang'ao, Xinxing Village, Youquan Town, Wuhua County. It dates back to the Ming Dynasty. Local villagers refer to it as the "ruins of a porcelain kiln." Eight dragon kilns were discovered along the Youquan River, with visible kiln walls and sintered layers. The accumulation layer is over one meter thick. Artifacts include saggers and spacers. The ceramic items consist of jars, bowls, plates, pots, dishes, basins, beans (small vessels), cups, lamps, etc., all with thick bodies, coated in celadon glaze. The outer walls often feature carved patterns such as water ripples, chrysanthemum petals, and lotus flowers, while the interiors of plates and bowls frequently bear imprinted characters like “Fu” (blessing), “Shou” (longevity), “Yu” (jade), or floral designs. These items belong to the Longquan Kiln-style ceramic tradition.
