Former Residence of Huang Guoliang

The former residence of Huang Guoliang is a Meizhou Municipal Cultural Heritage Protection Unit.

The former residence of Huang Guoliang is located in Longtan Village, Guotian Town, Wuhua County, Meizhou City. Dating back to the Republican era, it is considered an important modern historical site and representative architecture.

On March 13, 2020, the Meizhou Municipal People's Government designated the former residence of Huang Guoliang as part of the seventh batch of Meizhou Municipal Cultural Heritage Protection Units.

Huang Guoliang (1894–1927), courtesy name Shengya, art name Cailian, was a native of Longtan Village, Guotian Town. In his youth, he studied at Chengzheng Primary School in his hometown and at Meixian Middle School. In the autumn of 1920, he was admitted to the Dyeing and Weaving Department of the First Provincial Advanced Industrial School of Guangdong. In 1922, he joined the Chinese Communist Party, becoming the first CPC member from Wuhua County. In 1924, Huang Guoliang served as the Quartermaster of the Guangzhou Workers' Corps Army. He later worked in financial and economic affairs for the Guangdong District Committee of the CPC, holding concurrent positions at the Office of the Guangdong-Hong Kong Strike Committee and the Guangzhou Dockworkers’ Union.
