Mount Wangshou

Renowned as the “Nine Peaks and Eighteen Sceneries,” Mount Wangshou towers amid the mountain ranges along the Fujian-Guangdong border, with an elevation of over 1,000 meters. To its east and west lie Hongshan Township in Yongding County, western Fujian, and Songyuan and Tao Yao towns in Meizhou City, eastern Guangdong, respectively. The surging Ting River flows past its eastern foothills before joining the Han River on its way to the South China Sea. Legend has it that standing atop the mountain on a clear day, you can “look up to the Octagonal Tower in Tingzhou and down to the Xiangzi Bridge in Chaozhou,” taking in the boundless natural beauty spanning hundreds of square kilometers along the Fujian-Guangdong border.

Stretching over 20 kilometers, Mount Wangshou is covered with ancient vines twisting and climbing in all shapes and forms. The air is filled with the murmuring sound of mountain springs, harmonizing with birdsong and insect chirps. Ancient trees, rare plants, mountain flowers, and fragrant grasses decorate the old trails, competing in beauty and charm, making visitors linger and forget to leave.
