The Marshal Ye Jianying Memorial Hall is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The Marshal Ye Jianying Memorial Hall is located in Huxing Village, Yanyang Town, Meixian District, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, on the left side of the former residence of Marshal Ye Jianying, 33 kilometers from downtown Meizhou. The memorial hall was built in July 1987 and completed on October 22, 1989. The then President of China, Yang Shangkun, personally inscribed the name of the hall, and the then Vice President Wang Zhen, along with over 200 other leaders and people from all walks of life both at home and abroad, attended the grand inauguration ceremony.

Originally covering a construction area of 1,560 square meters, the memorial hall was expanded by an additional 1,800 square meters in 1994. It has two floors and features a modern garden-style architectural design that is solemn and elegant. The second floor of the memorial hall houses five exhibition rooms with a total display area of 500 square meters and an exhibition line stretching 135 meters. These rooms display cultural relics such as photographs, inscriptions, manuscript documents, office supplies, and the traditional scholar’s four treasures, showcasing the glorious and great life of Comrade Ye Jianying through five phases and twenty thematic sections. On the pedestal to the left of the main entrance stands a bronze seated statue of Marshal Ye Jianying, surrounded by lush cypress trees and floral arrangements. The 2-meter-tall statue was sculpted by the renowned Chinese sculptor Liu Huanzhang, and the base of the statue bears an inscription composed by the CPC Central Committee, inviting visitors to pay their respects.

The Marshal Ye Jianying Memorial Hall is grand in scale, with a total construction area of 6,500 square meters. The facilities in the memorial hall are comprehensive, and its collection includes two national first-class cultural relics, thirty-nine second-class relics, ninety-six third-class relics, and a large number of other ordinary cultural relics.

In June 2001, the Marshal Ye Jianying Memorial Hall was designated as a National Patriotic Education Demonstration Base by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee. In 2005, the memorial hall was listed by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council as one of the 100 key "Red Tourism Classic Scenic Areas" to be developed.

Ye Jianying (1897–1986), originally named Ye Yiwei and styled Cangbai, was a native of Meixian. He was a great proletarian revolutionary, statesman, and military strategist in China. He was one of the founders of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and a marshal of the People's Republic of China. He was also an outstanding leader of the Communist Party of China, the People's Republic of China, and the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
