Guangdong Yanming Lake National Forest Park is a national-level forest park.

Guangdong Yanming Lake National Forest Park is a national-level forest park. Established in December 2006 with approval from the National Forestry Administration, it is located in Fucun, YanYang Town, Meixian District, in the northeastern part of our province. Developed and built by Guangdong Huayin Group Co., Ltd. on the basis of the Meixian Huayin Reclamation Farm, it is a comprehensive tourism resort in Meixian that combines sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, health, and fitness.

The operating area of Yanming Lake National Forest Park spans 11,547 mu. Its overall planning highlights the concepts of green tourism and ecological wellness, integrating the lush ecological environment with the Taoist philosophy of harmony among "Heaven, Earth, and Humanity." Following the cycle of the four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—the park has established four major functional areas: Chunhui Garden (Spring Radiance Garden), Xiaxiao Garden (Early Summer Garden), Qiushi Garden (Autumn Harvest Garden), and Dongrong Garden (Winter Harmony Garden). Each garden is equipped with a series of vacation and entertainment facilities, making it one of the most comprehensively featured holiday resorts in Meizhou and even the eastern part of Guangdong.

To date, 160 million yuan has been invested in the forest park's tourism development, resulting in the construction of three major scenic areas: Chunhui Garden, Xiaxiao Garden, and Qiushi Garden. The established tourist facilities in these areas mainly include hotels, villa resorts, tea art houses, grass skiing slopes, swimming pools, children’s play zones, entertainment centers, Green Island Plaza, Ziyans Waterfall, Plum Pond, Yinhu Nunnery, tennis and badminton courts, billiard halls, rose gardens, horse carriage stations, dozens of pavilions and scenic spots, as well as supporting services. The park also plans to develop additional amenities such as a racetrack, children’s amusement park, eco-tourism projects, and a hunting ground.

Currently under construction in Dongrong Garden (Winter Harmony Garden) are facilities and projects such as a water golf driving range, children’s water play area, a large standardized outdoor swimming pool, a shooting range, and a standardized cultivation trial garden for Chinese medicinal herbs from southern China. Ultimately, the forest park aims to establish and develop a “Chinese Southern Medicinal Herb Cultivation and Processing Base,” along with comprehensive service facilities for “sightseeing, leisure vacation, and wellness retreats.” This will realize a development model of “promoting tourism through medicinal herbs and integrating herbs with tourism,” gradually transforming the park into a uniquely distinctive “No. 1 Village for Chinese Southern Medicinal Wellness Tourism and Vacation.”

Why is the forest park called “Yanming Lake” (Wild Goose Calling Lake)? Migratory wild geese flying south and returning north rest on this piece of land blessed with fine feng shui, singing in response to the area’s “clear mountains, lucid waters, birdsong, and floral fragrance,” hence the name “Yanming Lake.”
