Yao Shang Kiln is a cultural tourism attraction.

Yao Shang Kiln is located at Wan Yao Wo, Guo Wu Village, Yao Shang Town, Meixian District. It dates back to the Song Dynasty. Discovered in 1982 and excavated in 1985, the kiln structure is a dragon kiln, with walls built from rectangular bricks and a kiln bed inclined at 23° to 25°. A fireproof wall with 10 flue holes runs through the middle of the kiln. Artifacts unearthed inside include ceramic bowls, dishes, plates, cups, saucers, pots, and funnel-shaped saggars used as kiln furniture. The ceramics feature bluish-white glaze, green glaze, and brown glaze, predominantly green-glazed. The bowls have a glazed ring scraped off at the center and were fired using the stacking method. A small number of bluish-white ceramic bowls and dishes have carved or printed floral patterns on the inner walls, including peonies and flying phoenixes, bordered with meander designs. They were fired using the upside-down method, resulting in unglazed rims—a technique also seen in the Northern Ding Kiln system and relatively rare within the province.
