Former Residence of Deng Zhongyuan in Meixian and Former Site of Zhongyuan Primary School

The Former Residence of Deng Zhongyuan in Meixian and the Former Site of Zhongyuan Primary School are designated as cultural relics protection units of Guangdong Province.

The former residence of Deng Zhongyuan is located in Baishaping, Bingcun Town, Meixian District, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. Built in the late Qing Dynasty, the home of General Deng Zhongyuan of the Guangdong Army is a two-story corridor-style building that blends Chinese and Western architectural elements. The entrance gate faces northeast from the southwest, and the building is surrounded by a garden wall, symmetrically designed on both sides with external gates. It covers an area of 3,500 square meters, with a floor area of 950 square meters. The structure features a concrete frame, wooden beam roofing, gray tile covering, and inner balcony-style arched corridors on both upper and lower floors. It underwent comprehensive renovation in November 1993.

In [month missing] 1987, it was designated as a cultural relics protection unit by the Meizhou Municipal People’s Government. In 2015, it was listed as a cultural relics protection unit of Guangdong Province by the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government.
