The Xietian Xie Clan Ancestral Hall is a Municipal Cultural Heritage Protection Unit of Meizhou City.

The Xietian Xie Clan Ancestral Hall is situated in Xietian Village, Chengdong Town, Meixian District, Meizhou City. It originates from the Ming Dynasty and is categorized as an ancient building.

On June 29, 2016, the People’s Government of Meizhou City listed the Xietian Xie Clan Ancestral Hall as part of the fourth batch of Municipal Cultural Heritage Protection Units.

Chengdong Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Meixian District. It is a key hometown of overseas Chinese and serves as a production base for grain and forage livestock. During the Qing Dynasty, it was known as Dongxiang Fort; in the 30th year of the Republic of China, it became Dongxiang Township. In the early years after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it was part of Chengbei District. In 1956, it was split off to form Chengdong Township; in 1958, it came under the administration of Meicheng Commune; in 1959, Zhuyang Commune was split off; in 1963, it was renamed Chengdong Commune; in the winter of 1983, it became a district; and in 1987, it was established as a town. Located in the northeastern part of the county, it covers an area of 79.3 square kilometers and has a population of 19,000.
