Sainte Anne Marine National Park is just 5 kilometers away from Seychelles' capital, Victoria, and consists of six small islands and their surrounding waters. Established in 1973, the park was primarily created to protect marine life, and activities such as fishing and water skiing are prohibited within its boundaries. The combined land area of the six small islands that make up Sainte Anne Marine National Park is 3.8 square kilometers, and the total area of the park is 14.43 square kilometers.

The six small islands that make up Sainte Anne Marine National Park all belong to Seychelles' Mont Fleuri District. They are: Ste. Anne Island, covering an area of 2.19 square kilometers, which mainly features the luxury Ste. Anne Island Resort. The island boasts picturesque scenery and soft sandy beaches, making it an ideal spot for moonlit whispers and spiritual retreat. Cerf Island, with an area of 1.27 square kilometers, is home to about 100 residents, three hotels, and one restaurant. Île Cachée, covering only 0.021 square kilometers, is located southeast of Cerf Island and hosts many seabirds. Round Island, at 0.018 square kilometers, was once a colonial outpost but is now a five-star Round Island Resort featuring 10 villas, which opened in 2011. Long Island, spanning 0.212 square kilometers, currently houses a state prison. Moyenne Island, with an area of 0.089 square kilometers, is inhabited by some local residents and also includes a hotel.

Nowadays, Sainte Anne Marine National Park is one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the Indian Ocean region, offering a glimpse into Seychelles’ mysterious underwater world. Visitors can go scuba diving or take glass-bottom boat tours to observe marine life. The park also hosts one of the largest “seagrass pastures” in Seychelles, which is truly stunning.
