A true paradise for birds, where 1.5 million different species of birds are the real masters. Watching them soar freely in the sky, you might even find yourself dreaming of growing a pair of wings. Seychelles Bird Island (Bird Island) is privately owned by a British couple and is located in the northernmost part of the Seychelles archipelago. It is a small island surrounded by crystal-clear waters and covered with coconut groves. The island is home to many tropical plants, providing a natural habitat for several rare bird species — hence its name. There are 12 unique bird species on Seychelles Bird Island, with thousands of white terns and terns nesting and breeding here. Its nature reserve has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The island is very small, about the size of seven or eight football fields. From May to October each year, nearly 3 million sooty terns breed here, just imagine the sight of birds filling the skies.
