Zambezi River
The Zambezi River is one of Africa’s four major rivers, along with the Nile, Congo, and Niger. Stretching 3,540 kilometers from its source to the mouth, the Zambezi and its tributaries flow through Zambia, Angola, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, and Malawi. The river basin covers an area of 1.33 million square kilometers. Highlights: The Zambezi River is the cradle of culture in Central and Southern Africa. It has numerous tributaries, a dense river network, and is renowned for its waterfalls, gorges, and rapids.
