Introduction: Located on the southern coast of the Mediterranean Sea in Tunis Bay, Tunis has a population of about 1.2 million and is a beautiful seaside city with a pleasant climate. It is a city where Arabic architecture blends seamlessly with modern architectural art. The old medina still retains an authentic, traditional Arab Eastern charm. Although the ancient city walls are no longer standing, nearly ten city gates have been well preserved, including the Sea Gate that connects the new and old cities, and the Souk Gate that links the old city to the suburbs. The bustling streets of downtown are Boulevard Bourguiba, lined with lush trees and dotted with newsstands and flower stalls. At the eastern end of the boulevard is Republic Square, where a bronze statue of President Bourguiba stands. The western end is Independence Square, home to a bronze statue of Ibn Khaldun, the famous ancient Tunisian historian. Not far east of the city center are the train station and the seaport, while to the north lies the city’s scenic Bellevue Park. The famous ancient Roman aqueduct runs through the agricultural area in the western suburbs. Due to its proximity to Europe, Tunis often serves as a hub for international conferences.
