Kerkennah Islands
The Kerkennah Islands consist of 12 small islands covering an area of over 50 square kilometers and are located 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Sfax, which can be reached by ferry in just one hour. The islands closest to the mainland are Gharbi and Melita; the largest islands in the archipelago are Chergui and Kerkennah, and the entire group is covered with dense palm trees.
