Chebika Oasis, also known as the "Sprite Oasis," is located at the foot of a mountain in Tozeur Province, Tunisia. It is an enchanting mountain oasis and one of the most beloved mountain oases in the world.

Backed by the Atlas Mountains and facing the Chott el Djerid salt lake and the Sahara Desert, the residents of Chebika Oasis have lived self-sufficient lives for centuries. The serene and tranquil Chebika Oasis is truly a rare gem of the desert—a splash of green that never fails to awe. Nestled within the rugged mountains, it is a wonder in the wilderness. The town’s buildings, once made of clay, were unfortunately destroyed by relentless floods and now lie abandoned, though vendors still sell souvenirs. The town’s hermitage monastery and cemetery remain intact, their white walls standing out vividly among the earthen-hued structures. A closer look reveals that these buildings embody the typical features of Saharan architecture stretching from Egypt to Morocco.

The most distinctive feature of Chebika Oasis is the streams and waterfalls that run through it. The presence of these water features adds a refreshing coolness to the oasis, allowing visitors to swim in the desert and enjoy the cool waters of the streams and cascading falls amid the scorching climate—an experience that can only be described as sublime.
