Glasgow

Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and principal commercial port, as well as the third-largest city in the United Kingdom. Located at the mouth of the River Clyde in western central Scotland, it is also one of the UK’s primary hubs for the Chinese community.

Glasgow is a highly culturally rich city with many attractions worth visiting, such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the People’s Palace, The Burrell Collection, the Gallery of Modern Art, George Square, Glasgow Cathedral, the University of Glasgow, and the Glasgow Science Centre, among others.

Glasgow is home to the two football teams Celtic F.C. and Rangers F.C. Their respective stadiums in Glasgow are Celtic Park and Ibrox Stadium. Glasgow also hosted the 2007 Sudirman Cup badminton tournament, which had previously been held in Glasgow in 1997. On November 9, 2007, Glasgow beat Abuja, Nigeria, to win the bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games. This will be the third time the Games have been held in Scotland, following previous editions in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, in 1970 and 1986.
