Glasgow Botanic Gardens is a botanical garden and park located in the west end of Glasgow, Scotland. This Glasgow Botanic Garden is a typical British-style garden, embodying the aesthetic principle of nature within artifice. The selection of plant species ensures that the scenery changes with the seasons; the planned arrangement of planting locations gives the garden layers of visual interest. Nature is reflected in allowing plants to grow freely, with minimal unnecessary pruning.

Established in 1817 and managed by the Royal Botanic Institution of Glasgow, the gardens were initially created mainly to serve the University of Glasgow, as well as for concerts and other events. In 1891, the garden became part of the Glasgow Corporation's parks and gardens. The garden is noted for its several greenhouses, the most famous being the Kibble Palace. Built in the 1860s, the Kibble Palace features an iron framework covered with nearly 100,000 panes of glass. It was moved to the Glasgow Botanic Gardens from John Kibble’s home in 1873, originally used for exhibitions and performances before gradually becoming a space for cultivating temperate plants. In addition to plants, the Kibble Palace also houses several sculptures.
