Located at the confluence of the River Foss and the River Ouse, York is a city in England, United Kingdom, and also the capital of North Yorkshire in the Yorkshire and the Humber region of England. Historically, the city was an important wool market and educational center, and today it serves as a major transport hub, as well as an educational and commercial center. With its wealth of historical resources, it is the most visited city in England after London.
