Introduction The Chinese Garden was officially opened in 1994 as a gift from Kunming, Zurich’s sister city. Designed by the Kunming municipal government based on the layout of Cuihu Park, it is the largest Chinese-style garden overseas. The people of Zurich take great pride in the sister-city relationship between their city and Kunming. To date, Zurich maintains only one single sister-city relationship—and that is with Kunming.
