Langenberg Wildlife Park

Located 5 km south of Zurich, Langenberg Wildlife Park is Switzerland’s oldest zoo, established in 1869 and covering an area of 80 hectares. The park is home to 18 native animal species, including deer, bears, lynxes, wolves, wildcats, marmots, rabbits, elk, wild boars, and Przewalski’s horses.

The wildlife at Langenberg Wildlife Park inhabits expansive natural environments, so they are not always visible. However, if you’re patient and observant, you’re sure to spot some. Additionally, the park features a self-service restaurant and a children’s playground for visitors’ convenience. The zoo is open year-round; the enclosed wildcat enclosure is open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM daily in winter and from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM in summer.

There are several ways to get to Langenberg Wildlife Park: by car – take the road between Adliswil and Langnau a.Albis. By train – take the S4 from Zurich Hauptbahnhof and get off at Langnau-Gattikon, which is 25 minutes away, then walk for 10 minutes to reach Langnau a.Albis. Zurich–Langnau: 25-minute train ride. Lucerne–Langnau: 1 hour 15 minutes by train and bus.
