The Zurich Toy Museum is a private collection from the Franz Carl Weber toy store. It displays toys from the 18th to early 20th century, along with toy furniture and full kitchen sets, wooden bicycles, moving models, and more. Ride a single-person elevator up in a building where you’d least expect a museum to be. The museum is located at the corner of Rennweg 26 on the way to Lindenhof.

The Zurich Toy Museum can be described as small but exquisite. Though the museum has a compact floor space, the quality and historical significance of all its collections are absolutely top-notch. Every little toy is a historical snapshot of its respective era: trains and steam engines are toys that witnessed the technological revolution, dolls and their outfits represent fashion trends of different times, and toy houses showcase the domestic life of earlier generations. In addition, items such as tin numbers, antique games, wooden toys, children’s books, stoves, and more—all themed around toys—display the characteristics of their eras. It is the best testament to the collective memory of the Swiss people through time.
