Museum Rietberg is situated in a dense park in the heart of Zurich, Switzerland. It opened in 1952 and specializes in displaying art from Asia, Africa, and the Americas, making it the only museum in Switzerland dedicated to non-European cultures.

Museum Rietberg is the third-largest museum in Zurich and the largest museum managed by the city. It attracts visitors from all over the world every year. The museum’s collection primarily features artifacts from Africa, Asia, and ancient America, including Chinese paintings, wood carvings, bronze works, American textiles, Indian statues, Peruvian ceramics, African masks, and more. These exhibits mainly come from the private collection of Baron Eduard von der Heydt.

The Chinese collection at Museum Rietberg is considered one of the most important in Europe and draws considerable attention. It focuses on Buddhist sculptures, funerary art (such as bronzes, jades, and pottery), and paintings from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368–1911).
