Ulan Mudi Nutug (Mongolian: district) of Horqin Right Front Banner is located at the southern foot of the Greater Khingan Mountains. It is the largest pure pastoral area in Xing'an League with the most extensive grasslands and the highest livestock population. The entire region is classified as mountainous meadow. The usable grassland area spans 1,600 square kilometers. The area is crisscrossed with streams, abundant in lush pasture, and boasts uniquely scenic grassland vistas.

Ulan Mudi Grassland is located in Ulan Mudi Nutug of Horqin Right Front Banner (Dabaigou Town), Xing'an League. The grassland lies at the southern foot of the Greater Khingan Mountains and is the largest pure pastoral area in Xing'an League with the most extensive grasslands and the highest livestock population. This is a hilly mountain grassland region with vast land, abundant water, and beautiful pastures, offering distinctive grassland scenery. The area features rivers, streams, mountain springs, and shrubs. In summer and autumn, wildflowers bloom everywhere, filling the fields with fragrance. Currently, Ulan Mudi Nutug offers various services for tourists, who can enjoy the grassland scenery, visit Mongolian herders, and taste distinctive ethnic teas and snacks. The Nadam Fair held in Ulan Mudi is a traditional local mass event held once every two years. Major activities include wrestling, horse racing, archery, horse lassoing, dancing, as well as trade exchanges, science and technology exhibitions, and recognition of outstanding individuals. The "Nadam" is usually held between July and August, with the venue chosen in a wide, flat area with lush water and grass and beautiful scenery. A high platform is erected at the site, and around it, Mongolian yurts, restaurants, teahouses, and shops are temporarily set up in an orderly fashion, resembling a uniquely styled grassland city.

Ulan Mudi Sumu has a long history, and Ulan Mudi Grassland is the most picturesque and ecologically intact part of the Horqin Grassland.
