Burgers' Zoo

Burgers' Zoo is located in Arnhem, Gelderland Province, the Netherlands, covering an area of 110 acres. It is one of the largest zoos in the Netherlands and is very popular among both Dutch and German visitors, attracting around 1.5 million guests each year to this vibrant wildlife park.

Burgers' Zoo is home to more than 500 species and around 10,000 animals, providing them with optimal living environments. The zoo is divided into eight themed areas: Burgers' Bush, Burgers' Safari, Burgers' Rainforest, Burgers' Mangrove Swamp, Burgers' Desert, Burgers' Ocean, Burgers' Jungle, and Burgers' Children's Jungle. Among these, Burgers' Ocean is the most captivating. It is a massive aquarium holding 2.1 million US gallons of water, serving as the habitat for coral reefs, reef fish, sharks, and other marine life. Burgers' Jungle, opened in 2008, is the zoo’s newest addition, showcasing the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia. Visitors can observe animals such as Sumatran tigers, Malayan sun bears, binturongs, red-cheeked gibbons, and Asian jackals.

Burgers' Zoo has successfully bred fish and corals, which are part of the exhibit at Burgers' Ocean for visitors to see, while also supplying marine life to other public aquariums. In addition, the zoo has made outstanding contributions to the conservation and breeding of endangered species.
