Nijmegen is located in the eastern part of the Netherlands, near the German border. In 2005, it celebrated its 2000th anniversary and is considered the oldest city in the Netherlands. The city is one of the warmest in the country, and its pleasant climate, abundant natural resources, and historical landmarks make it an important tourist destination.

Nijmegen is an ideal city for sightseeing. With its long history, the city boasts numerous historic sites, such as the Barbarossa Ruins, the Old Toll House, the watchtower on the city wall, the Town Hall, the Weighing House, St. Stephen’s Church, St. Nicholas Church, and the Synagogue. The city also has several museums, including the Africa Museum, which specializes in African art and culture, the Valkhof Museum, which tells the story of ancient Roman and medieval history, and the Bicycle Museum, which focuses on bicycle collections.

Every July, Nijmegen hosts the “Four Days Marches,” a walking event during which a variety of commercial and entertainment activities are held, attracting thousands of tourists from around the world for vacation.
