The museum has 11 exhibition halls that narrate the over 900-year development history of pasta through artifacts and images, using vivid facts to show how Italians transformed an ordinary food into a culture and spread it around the world. According to statistics, there are as many as 563 varieties of pasta, with the pasta itself coming in a wide range of shapes such as long and thin, flat, spiral, and butterfly, as well as colorful types made by adding pumpkin, spinach, grapes, and more. The museum provides a detailed introduction to the raw material of pasta—wheat, with all Italian pasta being made from durum wheat. The museum displays pasta-making tools from different periods in chronological order, from the earliest rolling pins and dough bowls to later mechanized production equipment. Numerous artifacts vividly illustrate the centuries-long development history of Italian pasta.

There is also a dedicated exhibition hall on the scientific consumption of pasta, which uses clear diagrams to show the changes pasta undergoes when boiled in hot water. The museum is open daily from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, year-round except for Italian public holidays.
