Stadio Olimpico

Also known as the Stadio dei Centomila, the Stadio Olimpico is the main stadium in Rome, Italy, and serves as the shared home ground for Serie A clubs Roma and Lazio. It successfully hosted the 17th Summer Olympic Games. The stadium was built for the 1960 Olympics and was inaugurated on May 17, 1953, with a seating capacity of 72,698. It also hosted the 1987 World Athletics Championships and was later renovated for the 1990 FIFA World Cup, featuring the addition of an elliptical translucent roof.

The Stadio Olimpico was designed by master architects E. Del Debbio, C. Roccatelli, and A. Vitellozzi. The overall structure is novel and unique, blending ancient Roman stadium design with modern sports architecture. Moreover, the stadium fully considers the needs and convenience of both athletes and spectators, with its human-centered design earning praise from event organizers and audiences alike. To date, the Stadio Olimpico has successfully hosted numerous sporting events including the finals of the UEFA European Championship and the European Cup (now UEFA Champions League), as well as concerts and major events, gaining widespread recognition.
