The Art Gallery of Ontario was established in 1990 and is now located in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is one of Canada’s most renowned art museums. The gallery houses a collection of over 80,000 works, created from the 1st century AD to the present. In 1993, the gallery underwent renovations, opening 30 new exhibition rooms, with a total collection area of 45,000 square meters, making it one of the largest art museums in North America.

The most significant collections at the Art Gallery of Ontario are a vast array of Canadian artworks, many of which depict themes from the Renaissance to the Baroque period. In addition, the museum also features European art, African and Oceanian art, as well as contemporary and modern artworks. The gallery is internationally renowned for its collection of works by British sculptor Henry Moore, including approximately 20 sculptures. It also houses over 16,000 pieces of artwork and paintings ranging from the 14th century to the modern era. Among the more modern works are pieces by Fauvist artist Henri Matisse and pop artist Andy Warhol, while classical masterpieces include biblical paintings by Giovanni, 17th-century Dutch painter Rembrandt, as well as works by Van Gogh and Picasso.

In the bright halls of the Art Gallery of Ontario, the atmosphere is filled with modern art. The gallery has dedicated areas and rooms where Canadians can showcase or exchange their own collections. The venue includes a restaurant and a gift shop, and the entrance displays a schedule of upcoming events, allowing visitors to plan their visit according to their schedule and explore the museum’s various themed exhibitions.
