Lao National Cultural Hall

The Lao National Cultural Hall was funded and built by the People's Republic of China for Laos, and the hall was completed in March 2000. The four-story building features an auditorium that can accommodate 1,500 spectators, as well as two meeting rooms and a lounge.

It is situated on Samsenthai Street in Vientiane. The grand architecture and elaborate Lao wood carvings on the entrance gate make it stand out brilliantly, overshadowing the surrounding buildings. Unless there is a major event, the hall is rarely open to the public. Most of the time, it is used for political conferences, concerts, film screenings, exhibitions, and other private functions. Due to the lack of corresponding performance budgets within Laos, the National Cultural Hall is sometimes used only for external performances or as a reception venue for international art troupes.
