Champasak Provincial Museum

Champasak Province is a province in southwestern Laos, one of the three countries formed from the former Lao Kingdom of Lan Xang. Named after the former capital of the Champasak Kingdom, Champasak Province has its capital in Pakse, with the Mekong River flowing through the province. Clockwise from the north, Champasak Province borders Savannakhet Province, Vientiane Province (also known as Khouang Province), and Attapeu Province, while its southern and western sides share borders with Cambodia and Thailand, respectively.

The Champasak Provincial Museum is a local museum located in the capital city of Pakse. It houses a collection of historical artifacts and materials from across Champasak Province, making it one of the most important places to learn about the culture and life of the region. Through photographs of major cultural events, diplomatic conferences, and figures such as Kaysone Phomvihane (1920–1992) and Khamtay Siphandone, the museum showcases the development history of Champasak Province. Exhibits including musical instruments, traditional ethnic costumes, textiles, jewelry collections, stone pillars from the 15th to 18th centuries, water pots from the 11th to 12th centuries, and pottery from neighboring provinces illustrate the daily life customs and culture of the area.
