The Quirino Grandstand is located in Rizal Park in the heart of Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Named after the country’s sixth president, Elpidio Quirino, it has been the site where Philippine presidents take their oath of office, the venue for major national events and ceremonies, and a gathering place for cultural, political, and religious occasions.

The Quirino Grandstand is the heart of the Philippines, where nearly all of the country’s history can be witnessed. Some of the nation’s most significant events have taken place here, such as the 1995 World Youth Day celebration, the 1998 commemoration of Philippine Independence, the opening ceremony of the 2005 Southeast Asian Games, and the gathering led by Pope John Paul II, which attracted 5 million devotees—making it the largest papal gathering in the history of the Roman Catholic Church. This alone is enough to demonstrate the grandeur of the Quirino Grandstand.

In front of the Quirino Grandstand lies a 10-acre grassy field, surrounded by extensive plantings of mango and coconut trees that add a lush green touch to the entire area. On ordinary days, the grandstand sees little activity, but during major holidays and celebrations, it becomes bustling and packed with people.
