Beirut is located along the coast of Beirut Governorate and is the capital of Lebanon. It serves as a key commercial, banking, and financial hub in the Middle East, with many multinational corporations establishing their regional headquarters here. The city is not only the largest and finest seaport on the eastern Mediterranean but also an important gateway and cargo distribution center for Lebanon.

Beirut attracts travelers from around the world with its exquisite architecture, stunning natural scenery, and famous historical landmarks. As a highly popular tourist destination, the city welcomes approximately 3 million visitors annually and is often referred to as the “Paris of the Middle East.” It preserves remnants of Roman-era walls, temples, and pools, as well as mosques from the Ottoman Empire. The Temple of Baalbek is among Beirut’s most renowned ruins, featuring grand structures such as the Temple of Jupiter (god of all gods), the Temple of Bacchus (god of wine), and the Temple of Venus (goddess of love). The “Baalbek International Festival” is held here every year.

Among the most worthwhile to visit are the National Museum of Beirut, the Beirut Art Center, the Archaeological Museum of the American University of Beirut, and the Robert Mouawad Private Museum.
