Introduction Located north of Wellingdon Circle, it was built in 1905 and named after the Prince of Wales (later King George V), making it one of India’s largest museums. Designed by British architects, it features 16th-century Mughal architectural style, with a main structure consisting of a three-domed building primarily constructed from basalt, presenting a grand and majestic appearance. The museum is set within gardens, offering a beautiful environment. Collections include classical artworks and sculptures from various periods of Indian history. The exhibits are divided into several major sections: archaeological artifacts, art and paintings, and foreign relics. Among these, precious cultural relics from China and Japan are displayed in a separate exhibition hall—a first in India. Ticket/Opening Hours Opening Hours: 10:00–18:00, closed on Mondays. Ticket: 2 rupees, free on Tuesdays.
