Gateway of India, Mumbai
Located on the Arabian Sea coast in Mumbai, about 40 kilometers west of the city center. It was built in 1911 to commemorate the landing of King George V of England here. The structure is in Indo-Saracenic style, topped with four towering pylons.
The Gateway of India is a must-see attraction in Mumbai and serves as a symbol of the city. Its architecture combines elements of Indian and Persian cultures and bears a strong resemblance to the Arc de Triomphe in France. It has now become an iconic building in India and an important venue for the government to welcome dignitaries from around the world.
