Sanjay•Gandhi National Park, also known as Borivali National Park, is one of the rarest national parks located within city limits in the world. Located on the northern edge of Mumbai's suburbs in India, it was established in 1969, covers an area of 104 square kilometers, and is surrounded on three sides by one of the most densely populated cities in the world.

Sanjay•Gandhi National Park is Asia’s most visited national park, attracting 2 million visitors annually, and is also the largest city-contained park in the world. The park is covered with lush forests, home to a large number of rare plants and animals, making it a haven for India’s endangered wildlife. With only a few hundred white tigers in the world, two of them reside in this park, becoming the star attractions that draw numerous visitors.

The ancient Kanheri Caves, carved into cliffs within the national park, date back 2,400 years. Supported by 34 pillars and featuring pillared courtyards, the site consists of 109 caves, including monks' living quarters — some even have statues, murals, and balconies.
