Adlabs Imagica Theme Park
Adlabs Imagica Theme Park is located between the western cities of Mumbai and Pune, near the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. It officially opened to the public on April 18, 2013, and is India’s first internationally themed entertainment park, aiming to attract middle-income Indian families.
Covering an area of 121 hectares and costing $294 million to build, Adlabs Imagica can accommodate 10,000 to 15,000 visitors per day. The park aimed to attract 3 million visitors in its first year. With a style similar to Disney and Universal Studios theme parks, it features themes based on Indian deities, blending international elements with rich local cultural content to create a unique experience. Highlights include the “Wrath of the Gods” show, which depicts ancient Indian gods angered by the destruction of temples by humans; “Curse of Salimgarh,” a ghost castle named after an old Delhi structure; and “Mr. India,” a simulated ride inspired by the 1987 Indian superhero film of the same name.
The park offers 21 rides and attractions themed around Hindu gods, Bollywood, and more, catering to the family entertainment needs of India’s middle class. In addition, it features a water park, hotels, and shopping areas, ensuring there's something for every visitor.
