Pune (Pune), formerly known as Poona, is a city in western India and is often referred to as the "Queen of the Deccan." It serves as the cultural capital of the Marathi people and is located 140 kilometers southeast of Mumbai. As the second-largest city in Maharashtra, it is the cultural hub of the state and also an important academic and research center in India, known as the “Oxford of the East.”
