Lake Bera is located in the southwestern part of Pahang State, near the mountains of West Malaysia, and is connected to the Pahang River. It is the largest natural freshwater lake in Malaysia. The lake stretches up to 35 kilometers in length and 20 kilometers in width.

As the largest natural freshwater lake in Malaysia, Lake Bera retains a one-of-a-kind wetland environment, surrounded by lush forests, with wetland areas covering up to 24,000 hectares. It is not only a place to enjoy nature and admire the scenic beauty of the lake and surrounding hills, but also a paradise for anglers, as well as an ideal spot for boating and canoeing, making it highly popular among visitors. The lake's surface is as smooth as a mirror, with crystal-clear waters that are home to over 90 species of fish. The area around the lake hosts more than 200 species of birds, making it a renowned birdwatching destination across Malaysia.

In addition to birdwatching, visitors to the wetland fringe areas around Lake Bera can also spot tigers, tapirs, elephants, clouded leopards, squirrels, lemurs, and the very rare Malayan false gharial. Moreover, rare orchids, ferns, and epiphytic plants can be found here.
