Lake Jenny

Lake Jenny is located in central Pahang, consisting of twelve large and small lakes, covering an area of up to 5,085 hectares. The Jenny River flows out from Lake Jenny and later joins the Pahang River. Lake Jenny is the second-largest natural freshwater lake in Malaysia and is the country’s only tourist site designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, holding significant ecological importance.

Viewed from above, Lake Jenny resembles the root of a peanut, with four root-like waterways connecting the bulging, peanut-shaped small lakes together, creating a stunning sight. Clusters of reeds and patches of trees dress it up like a green maze, further enhanced by the reflections of the high mountains on both banks, adding to its enchanting beauty. The calm lake surface reflects the distant mountains, the sky above, and the aquatic plants in the clear water, making it hard to distinguish between reality and reflection. Perhaps only when boats glide by do they disrupt this painted scene on the water, allowing one to tell apart the water from the sky, and the real from the reflected.
